It has been over seven years Siddharth has not had a straight film in Tamil, but Siddharth's mentor and director Jayendra, who is directing Nootrenbadhu (180 in Telugu), feels that Siddharth hasn't lost his appeal with the Tamil audiences despite being off Kollywood's radar for a long time.
The director said: "I have been travelling with Siddharth to various cities to promote Nootrenbadhu; people still recognize him and come up to him to chat with him. His charm is still intact."
The director added that the slick promos of the film might give an impression that the film is a movie targeted at the multiplex audiences, but that is not so. "If you equate mass with masala, then this is not a mass film. But all kinds of audiences can relate to the film's storyline and emotions, which are universal." Produced by SPI Cinemas and Aghal Films, the film is set to release on June 24.
